Fangage ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our platform, including the publisher dashboard and embeddable widgets.

Publisher Accounts

• Email address and name (for account creation)
• Organization name and settings
• Widget configuration and analytics data

Widget Visitors (End Users)

• Anonymous visitor ID (stored in localStorage, device-scoped)
• Interaction data (votes, predictions, quiz answers)
• Email address (only when voluntarily provided for notifications)
• Push notification subscription (only when explicitly opted in)
• Basic analytics: page views, time in view, interaction timestamps

Automatically Collected

• Browser type and version (user agent)
• Referring URL and page URL
• Approximate location (from IP address, not stored)

3. How We Use Information

• To provide and improve the Service
• To display widget results and leaderboards
• To send notifications you've opted into
• To generate analytics for publishers
• To prevent abuse and ensure service integrity

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We may share information with:

• Publishers — aggregated, anonymized analytics about widget interactions on their sites
• Service providers — for hosting (Supabase, Vercel) and email delivery, under data processing agreements
• Legal requirements — when required by law or to protect our rights

5. Cookies & Local Storage

Our widgets use localStorage (not cookies) to store anonymous visitor IDs and interaction history. The publisher dashboard uses cookies for authentication sessions. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

Anonymous interaction data is retained for the duration of the publisher's account. Personal data (email addresses) is retained until the user requests deletion or the publisher's account is terminated. Analytics data may be retained in aggregated form indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security on our database, and secure authentication. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data.

10. International Data Transfers

Data may be processed in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
